Villa Montalbano welcomes a very limited number of wedding and events each year. Proceeds support charities, in particular St Mark's English Church in Florence

Set in the olive tree covered Tuscan Countryside. Villa Montalbano is an ideal venue for a small to medium sized wedding, an occasion such as a renewal of vows, christening, a family anniversary or simply a group dinner or party.

 

The property is located close to international airports, the motorway and rail networks, so family, friends and other guests can easily reach Villa Montalbano with ease and comfort. Once the summer residence of the Florentine Counts Bastogi family, the exclusive venue's origins go back four centuries.  The villa has been updated to include essential modern features, such as central heating and contemporary bathrooms, it has retained its unspoiled antique charm and historical roots.  The Villa’s capacity for a sit down lunches or dinners seats up to 40 indoors or under the loggia. It can also accommodate up to 100 with the use of a marquee. Cocktail or drinks reception can be held indoors for up to 80 and outdoors for up to 200. Live music for dancing can also be arranged for any premiere event or wedding. 

 

The Villa is surrounded by an acre of classic Italian garden, which preads out below cyprus, cedar, pine and lime trees, all designed to keep it cool in the summer. The centerpiece is a hexagonal ornamental stone ‘vasca’ and fountain, which together with the trees and terracotta statues is illuminated at night to create an inviting atmosphere.

 

The views from both the Villa and garden are stunning. Looking to the north over the city of Pistoia, one can see the Apennine’s mountain peaks, while turning east one overlooks the fertile plain of the Ombrone River as far as Florence itself. In the opposite direction the green forests of the Montalbano hills overlook the Villa.

 

The owners have been established in the area since 1964 and in this time have built up an impressive network of local contacts who are experienced at supporting events at the Villa. This includes transport companies, caterers, bands, DJs, hair stylists and even providers of vintage cars. In other words, the Villa can organize all aspects of your event on your behalf.
